DIGRA Mx is a meeting point for researchers, academics, students, and professionals in the video game industry in Mexico, with the aim of fostering national and international collaboration, as well as promoting local approaches to game studies. We are committed to high-quality research and to encouraging collaboration and the dissemination of the work of all our members. DIGRA Mexico is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization.
Objectives of DIGRA Mexico
- Promote the scientific nature of the game studies field, guiding research institutions and funding agencies across Mexico to recognize video games as a valuable area of study.
- Encourage networking and collaboration among researchers, academics, students, and professionals in the Mexican game industry.
- Support local approaches to game studies, as well as research on local game-related topics.
- Assist in teaching game-related subjects at all educational levels, particularly in universities.
- Foster connections between researchers, academics, and game developers to bridge academia and industry.
- Make international research more accessible to Mexican scholars, who often face barriers to attending DIGRA’s main conferences due to geographical distances.
- Bridge the gap between the international community and Mexican game researchers, academics, and students, overcoming language barriers.

DIGRA
Founded in 2003, DIGRA is the leading international association of scholars and professionals researching (video) games and their associated phenomena. Its international executive board consists of a diverse group of academics from various parts of the world and has representation in multiple countries.
